Good afternoon,
I am switching my website over from Weebly.com to Google sites. The new link is below. Please delete your old link. I will no longer be updating this website. I hope you will find that the new website is easier to navigate. You will notice a few major changes. I placed my messages, links to lessons, and eLearning links on different pages. You will also find links that therapists, specials teachers, and counselors have provided for your child. New Site https://sites.google.com/view/mrbotsfordsclass/home

Welcome to Our Classroom Website

Welcome to our new website. My name is Mr. Botsford, this will be my 22nd year teaching in Chatham. There are a variety of links in which your child can practice his/her reading, math, spelling, sight words, letter formation, in the students’ section. In the parent section, you will find your child’s specials schedule, glossary of educational terms, schedules, meeting dates, along with a number of other resources.
My Class Mission
There are many things I want for my students. I want every child to enjoy coming to school each day and to have a positive attitude towards learning. This will be done through developmentally appropriate lessons that involve hands-on activities. I would like every child to one day progress to regular education with independence, a positive attitude, confidence and respect for his/her peers and teachers.
What is the Language Concepts Program
The Language Concepts program is designed for students who may have moderate to significant delays in speech and language, cognitive development and or social and emotional growth. Students have the opportunity to mainstream with their grade level peers for specials, lunch, recess, and school events. When ready, students will have the opportunity to be mainstreamed for academics. This program is classified as a 12:1:1. The smaller setting gives more opportunities to work with each child in a smaller group daily. The goal is to have every child meet the New York State standards and the Chatham Central School District curriculum. Adaptive learning techniques are used to best fit your child's I.E.P program.
The Language Concepts program isn't...
- A guarantee that your child will always need a self-contained setting
- An isolated placement from mainstream peers
- A program where students are made to standout
